What is productive procrastination? Productive procrastination is for me being able to be productive even when you are procrastinating.

What is productive procrastination?

Productive procrastination is for me being able to be productive even when you are procrastinating. First, let us define what procrastination means shall we? Procrastination is doing something completely different from what you should be doing or meant to be doing, for example, you meant to be studying, doing your projects or your work, but instead, you started scrolling Instagram, Facebook, social media. And that’s okay, it is okay to procrastinate sometimes, we are human beings and we need to practise, the art of being a focus for long hours of work/study.

However, in this case, we will start with changing the form of those habits, that makes us procrastinate, and replace them with something inherently useful or inspirational, as we defined earlier productive procrastination, is the thing I find interesting myself too. To be able to be more productive even when you are procrastinating.

for example, as a student we always have things to do, projects to be submitted, or studying/working and so much more, So it is not always going to be a perfect path, perfect studying/working even if you have perfectly planned the day, or use Pomodoro technique, we still procrastinate,

For me personally, my form of procrastination from doing my study/work would be to browse web design inspiration on like a themeforest.net or Envato market. Or back in a day when I first discover about productive procrastination, my form of procrastination from again doing what I should be doing, I form this habit of learning to juggle,

First I had to prepare a two-tense ball in my table where I can see them so whenever I feel like not studying/working, I pick the ball and start juggling, well I am not going to lie it was two balls at first, and then the habit starts forming itself after a while and then, of course, started juggling with three balls Now I am not the best joggler but I am better than I was when I started.

Or if you are someone visually inspired like video/images, the form of procrastinating, would tend to watch video on YouTube as a form of your procrastination but the video should be something you could learn from, Maybe taking mental or actual physical notes about how you can improve your life or study or work something productive.

Or Another way that you can productively procrastinate is that you can have a keyboard, like a piano keyboard sitting next to your desk where you can see it easily, but preferably should always be a plugin, and should be always next to you. So that if you are feeling unproductive, or feeling like procrastinating, instead of just going and sitting on the sofa and scrolling through Instagram, If the piano is closer to your desk than the sofa is. It is more effort for you to go to the sofas, often able to sit on the piano and stop playing away.

The Point is, however, to create a habit that is inherently useful, so not end up scrolling through Facebook or Instagram all day instead, being productive while procrastinating.

How to create those productive procrastination habits?
